Configuring Mail on a Mac for Gmail.
To set up Gmail on your Mac (tested on OS 10.9 Mavericks), IMAP must be enabled on your Gmail account.
Enable IMAP on your Gmail account.
  1. Sign in to Gmail at www.gmail.com with your @royallepage.ca email address and RLP Network password.
  2. Click the gear in the top right.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  5. Select Enable IMAP.
  6. Click Save Changes.
Configure your Mac.
  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Open Internet Accounts.
  3. Select Google from the list
    .
  4. Enter the required information.
  5. Select the apps (services) you wish to synchronize with your Mac.
  6. Click Done.
  7. Verify the account has been added.
  8. Open Mail and go to Preferences.
  9. Select the new Google Account and go to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
  10. From the drop-down list, select Edit SMTP Server List…
  11. Under Advanced, change your User Name to your email address and change the custom port to 465.
  12. Save your changes.
  13. Go back to the part shown in step 11 and re-enter your password.
  14. Save your changes.
